If you aren’t already familiar yet with young actor model, and personality Noah Centineo, then you’re probably living under a rock. This rising 22-year-old is best recognized for starring in the films To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess is a Loser, both of which branded as Netflix favorites, as well as the upcoming movie The Perfect Date. Though Noah has been acting for most of his youth, his star flew greater heights in the past year due to his roles as the ideal leading man in romantic comedies. After all, he isn’t just called “the internet’s boyfriend” for no reason – his charm and endearing personality has gotten everyone smitten.
But before Noah turned into a household name, he was an eight-year-old who had no idea about his full potential and who he would eventually become in the future. So, what exactly helped him kick start his career? According to an interview with website Pop-Culturalist, he accompanied his older sister Taylor to an open call audition at John Robert Powers.
Noah shared, “She dragged me to this audition and I’m sitting there and someone comes over to me and they’re like, ‘Hey, are you auditioning?’ and I was like, ‘No!’ and they were like, ‘Come on, you should audition’ and I was like, ‘No, I don’t want to’ and they said, ‘No, I really think that you have potential, you should audition’. At that point, eight-year-old naïve Noah is like, ‘Wow, they believe in me. Okay, yeah, I’m definitely going to do this.’”
Eventually, the actor took the classes at John Robert Powers, which then gave him more opportunities to audition and then sign with another agency. It all worked out for Noah in the end thanks to his humble beginnings and roots at John Robert Powers. Aside from Noah Centineo, John Robert Powers’ prominent celebrity alumni include former Disney star Brenda Song, Shake It Up’s Olivia Holt, child actor Albert Tsai, and more.
